Halal investing FAQ
How is a stock certified halal?
It must pass a qualitative business screen and a quantitative financial screen, and is re-reviewed regularly as balance sheets change.
What is purification?
The small proportion of any impermissible income attributable to your holding is calculated and given to charity, keeping your returns clean.
Are returns lower than conventional investing?
No inherent disadvantage — halal portfolios diversify across screened equities and sukuk and have historically been competitive.
